Verde Recreo have completed another sports pitch for Somerset County Council at Oakfield School in Frome. The project comprised of a 40m x 36m acrylic sprayed macadam MUGA. The courts are fenced with a twinbar system and marked out for tennis, netball, basketball and football
We have completed the construction of a multi use games area for the children of Oakfield School in Frome. Using a small part of their playing fields, the finished pitch will provide a much needed all weather sports area and greatly enhance the sporting provision on the curriculum.
The court is suitable for tennis, netball, basketball and football as it is surfaced with an acrylic coated macadam, giving excellent ball bounce and slip resistance. The sturdy twinbar fencing will withstand all the children can throw at it and has built in football and basketball goals which provide great versatility.
The project was completed in 8 weeks
Off to a flying start. We set up the site, stripped the topsoil and completed the cut and fill. By Friday we were importing the first layer of stone.
The MUGA was kerbed this week, the stone laser graded and the sockets for the tennis nets and netball posts were concreted into the ground.
The topsoil was placed back around the pitch this week ready for seeding and the access path stoned up.
The fencers started on site this week, installing the sturdy twinbar re-bound fence. This has 5-a-side goals and basketball goals built in.
