Macadam is the most commonly used as it combines minimal maintenance with great versatility in use.
This porous surface can be colour coated with acrylic spray, in varying colours to give additional slip resistance. It also has the advantage of being upgradable to a synthetic surface at a later date.
Polymeric
A polymeric surface consists of a macadam base with a rubber granule shockpad laid on top and finished with a coloured rubber spray coat.
This surface offers the advantage of greater force reduction and safety while still maintaining the benefits of a minimal maintenance regime.
Artificial Turf
A synthetic turf solution can be tailored to the particular combination of sports required.
By using different turfs with different shockpads, the optimum solution can be achieved. A sand filled system is the most commonly installed in schools.
